My absolutely main hobby is photography. I have been taking pictures since childhood. Starting with 35mm film, I went digital in 2000. In 2012 I acquired my first TLR (medium-format) camera, a Rolleicord, and now I am re-learning photography without the “auto” setting, using 120-film and a hand-held lightmeter! My secondary hobby for the past 20 years have been Genealogy, or “family history research”, as its called in the popular venicular. Originally for religious reasons (I’m ex-LDS), its now 100% about family, ancestors and finding out as much as possible about forefathers (and foremothers). Another hobby is reading… For Yule (or “christ’s mass” as some religious people insists on calling it) last year I got an e-book. Being able to carry around shelves with reference litterature and stacks of unread books, is a dream come true to “reader” like myself.
When I was 14 I was diagnosed with Gilbert’s Syndrome, meaning I’m a hyperbilirubinemiac with increased toxicity to acetaminophen. In short, I bruise easily, always get “unusual liver readings” and paracetamol is going to kill me a lot sooner than it would you. As that wasn’t bad enough, I was diagnosed with chronic IBS type A when I was 41, after a very stressful spring, having endured my first railway suicide. The bland Mebeverine tablets are here to stay the Doc says, for life.
What else…? Oh yes, I’m currently single, I live by myself in the million-metropolis that is Manchester and for holidays I mostly travel to Berlin (a lot), Stockholm and sunny places… If you would like to contact me, use the form below – it will forward your message in an e-mail to me. In the menu at the top of the page, you can see links to my blog in Swedish, “Djupa Tankar” (literally “Deep Thoughts”), as well as my more universally accessible, blog in English, “Deep Thoughts” (ditto); and my budding SLR/TLR photo album site, “Anders Album”.
